Several local dignitaries were present (George Apap and new Federal member Amanda Rishworth) along with resident villagers and new villagers.
Media representatives conducted recorded interviews with Lucio Mucci who spoke about the progress of the planned village concept from its embryonic stage to the now real possibilities of an environmentally sustainable village situation on this prime Aldinga site. Building is expected to commence in February 2008 and complete in September 2008. Many positive responses were received from interested parties, so much so that Eco Built in Aldinga was Sold Out, before the first brick was laid, due to unprecedented demand.
Following the official opening, the occasion was enhanced with freshly made sushi prepared by Lucio’s wife Aki and spicy Italian meat balls in tomato sauce made by Lucio’s mother Rosa. A flagon of Lucio’s home made red wine was enthusiastically enjoyed by all, complimenting the delicious food.
